I must say, I'm rather disappointed. I wrote to Victorinox last year, suggesting that they replace the metal toothpick with a flint that could be used to start a fire; their response was that it had been considered but management had decided it wouldn't be cost effective.<br><br>Seems to me that the "swissflame" is much more complex, expensive, and liable to failure than a small stick of ferrocerium would be. (Of course, the ferrocerrium would be kind of brittle, and people are always losing those toothpicks, so maybe that's why Victorinox are world-renowned and I'm not :-)
