I sometimes refer to my BOB as a "Go bag"

I was taught the term "go bag" at an Advanced Accident Investigation class years ago. It refered to a container of goodies that you might need for a more in-depth investigation. My go "bag" was a GI .50 cal ammo can...

I've always referred to mine - a Maxpedition Tactical Operator - as my "Go to hell bag", as in when everything "goes to hell", that bag goes with me.

I use to work in the theatre...various jobs...but as a 'lighting monkey' (you'd climb into spots like one.....)I always took my "American Express" bag with me whenever I 'left the ground'. I borrowed their phrase.....don't leave the ground without it...I still have it and it still is going strong....It is the one tool kit I'll grab if I can ONLY take ONE......
