Since mineral oil is a petroleum based product, can it safely be used to coat the blade? I have baby oil on hand, and this is mineral oil with added fragrance. The same question is valid for 3-in-1 oil, which I also have.

Maybe if this blade is prone to rusting, it should be reserved for tasks other than food prep?
