On Doug's Primary Earthquake and Disaster Preparedness Kit listing, the fourth item on the list are Fiskars "Super Snips". What are these? Are they heavy-duty scissors, or more like utility snips (like tin snips or aviation snips)? What purpose would these "Super Snips" serve to accomplish?

Since Fiskars "Super Snips" no longer appear to be on the market, what would make an adequate (or better) replacement? Wiss brand tools seem to have some nice, versatile cutting instruments, whether they be scissors or snips.

Doug mentions elsewhere that Fiskars replaced their Super Snips with multi-purpose snips. Google for "Fiskars Multi-Snips."

Think scissors on steroids, performing some tasks that might stretch a knife's limits or quickly dull it, e.g. cutting wire, cable, thin sheet metal, vinyl sheeting, carpet etc.

Ah. Thank you very much. It seems these Fiskars "Super Snips" (Multi-Snips) are actual utility snips, and not just beefed up scissors.
