By the way, is it cheating to use my Makita cordless drill instead of a bow? I find if I put a 1/4-inch maple dowel in the chuck and really bear down on some nice hardwood while running it at top revs, I can get a nice ember going...

I guess it's only cheating if you call it the Bow Drill. In the above case you could call it the Drill Drill. grin
