Hello group..
from some of my older posts you may have gathered that
i'm from Minnesota and never gave a thought about the
water storage problem..i suggested that stored water should
be dumped and replaced every month...well i'm on the road
taking a vacation in the SW USA--i'm in Tempe AZ right now..
well i see where the water concerns come from..there is none
and the stuff out of the tap in the motel tastes like
alka-selzer....
that bridge that went down in Minneapolis is one i use
all the time..the TV shots i see in the motel are unnerving.

Hello Canoedogs,, I am glad to hear that you are on vacation AWAY from Minneapolis!!!!!

I picked up some "Worst Coast" hitchhikers years ago, and it was amusing to hear their "SHOCK & AWE" as we crossed over 1 river, creek, bayou, coulee, etc" after another. They could not believe that there was that much fresh water in the world, much less, the southeast USA!!!

Remember the advise of Edward Abbey regarding desert travel " carry lots of water, avoid the sun, pray frequently."

It's a weee bit dry out here on the west coast during summer, and even during some winters it's DRY. But, yeah Arizona is DRY!!

If you hike make sure to have a lot of water!!

I watched a program recently where officials said water availability (and battles over water rights) would the the #1 source of problems in the SW within the next 20 years. Having said that, I'm sure you're enjoying the lack of mosquitoes.

Also the Great Lakes has been going down (water Levels) at alarming rates and I think in the near future it won't be fighting over land but water.
