I am trying to find some of the old forum links, but get kicked back to the forum portal. Anyone else having this issue?

How old are they? The reason I ask is that I searched for some of my old posts (>2 years old) awhile back and they were gone. I assumed they were lost or jettisoned in the move to the new server.

I'm confused, are these old bookmarks or recent search results? I ask because these links are to www.equipped.org, not the current forums.equipped.org. Not sure if old links to particular posts on the old server are meant to work on the new server.

All posts are present - search only goes back 2 years by default as very large search ranges can lock the database until the search has completed.

The redirect off the old server simply directed any URL to the forum home. I've updated that, but the redirect script still seems to be less than reliable.

The Post ID's aren't the same old to new, but here's how they do translate:

Site 1 = http://forums.equipped.org/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=57799

and

Site 2 =

http://forums.equipped.org/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=77999


I'm working on the redirect script - it's there, but doesn't seem to work correctly for some reason or another.

Fixed - I re-implemented scripts on the old machine instead of a server-side redirect as the latter wasn't passing the appropriate arguments to the new software (and was just listing the forum contents).

This may break very old image (i.e. icons) links, however, but I think we can tolerate that compared to no post at all.

The redirect scripts use a permanent style redirect which should update most search engines (and some bookmarks). However - I would strongly encourage the referrer to update the links to the new style as I posted previously. The new Post ID can be seen at the upper right corner of each post.
