I just picked up one of these neat little Tight Pac containers off of eBay and I'm pretty impressed. It's a sturdy plastic lozenge/capsule 4.5" x 1.5" x 1". They claim it's "smell-proof" and seems like it will be pretty water-resistant. It also seems like it will be crushproof short of a real disaster. Mine is blue; they have them in several colors but unfortunately not red or orange. Should be pretty neat for storing fire gear or other assorted survival stuff.

The downside? They make some containers that won awards from "High Times" magazine and seem to have been designed to store weed! blush But hey, it's just an empty plastic container!

I've been using "tube vaults" aka embryonic soda bottles for storing fire gear and batteries in particular. They're very sturdy and seem to be a bit less expensive.

A couple years ago I bought a hundred Baby Soda Bottles. I really love them. Very sturdy and waterproof, but pretty heavy for the amount of storage. This little capsule fills a different niche. I like them both.

The weed...er, I mean "tobacco" case will very nice for carrying fire gear. grin
