My office has decided to purchase equipemnt vests for each of the Code Enforcement Inspectors. I have found many different options and styles except for one that I have been specifically asked to locate. Can anyone ID the type of vest that they wear on the show CSI Las Vegas? I just need a company name or a link would be fantastic. Thanks gang.
Matthew

Have a look at the Blackhawk, or tactical tailor websites.

I was afraid that they were a custom costume shop job. I did not see that on any of the fan sites, thanks. We've been going down the modular route, I was just asked if I could track down that particular vest. Thanks.

It can get that way sometimes. I'm a huge fan of the "soft" approach. Polo shirt uniforms, badge on the belt off to the side. I get a lot farther with "Hi, My name is Matthew, I'm with .... this is all said with a smile and a handshake.
The vests would be used primarily when we conduct joint patrols with the local PD for "Quality of Life" issues, college town, loud parties and trash kind of thing.
It is a pretty interesting job.
I used to be a "Parking Enforcement Officer" (read meter maid,or meter nazi.) My buddies used to come up behind me and as loudly as they could, yell "Put down the quarter and step away from the parking meter!" This could sometimes be a touch on the embarrasing side. blush But, I always got even. whistle

A good friend of ours is a code enforcement officer in Colorado. Besides parking tickets, they are also the "dog catchers." So they carry treats (to trick a dog into the paddy wagon), pepper spray, give away leashes for those folks who are violating the leash law, parking tickets, ticket writer (I always used a pen, but nowadays everyone has some fancy ticket writing machine), and no telling what else. Since she often has to walk her "beat," as opposed to driving around, I guess a multi-pocket vest makes a lot of sense...

I think I projected "Building Code Enforcement Inspectors" when I read the OP.

This comes from the, errr, public servant in our town who takes a certain zeal in his job.

Don't get caught doing anything without a permit around here. And if you do it yourself, it better be be 100% to code. On the other hand, after I had my roof done by a contractor, the guy came to the door and told my wife he was there for the final inspection. His inspection consisted of asking her "Does it leak?"
