I've just bought a Juice Kf4 as a lighter alternative to my Charge Ti when I want to carry pliers.

With the Charge, when the pliers are open the action is completely free - there is no resistance to opening or closing the plier jaws. I expected the same with the Kf4, but there is a little resistance - the plier jaws stay in position unless deliberately opened/closed.

Perhaps this is how it should be - the Kf4 does seem to be different (when opening the handles they are sprung and click into position), but it's not what I was expecting and I was wondering if anyone could say if this is normal or not.

Thanks,

eeph

Hmmm brand new tools were always a bit stiff to begin with but after a while they would loosen up. If it bothers you try a commercial lubricant and try opening/closing it few times. I remember my charge being like that when I got it and so was the squirt but after constant use they are alright.

My Leatherman Supertool (the original version), which I have owned for at least 15 years or so, is still so stiff it almost hurts to open some of the tools. I have used just about every lubricant known to man, it is still tight...

I've EDC'd my KF4 for a little over a year now, and it is just as stiff as when I got it. I wish they made something that size that is one-handed, like my old Wave.
