OK..first off i know the Coleman people did not make these cans for survivalists to store gas in for 10-12+ years.

and this can sat in a wood box in my damp basement until this summer when i noticed even the tops of the newer cans were getting rusty so i moved them all out to the garage.
and that can has the blue tape on it because i was keeping
kerosine in it for my camp stoves.i have a 5 gallon plastic can for the main kero storage but filling stoves from a small can works better.
back to plastic and don't reuse old cans,i get it....

these are the rusty cans in the basement.i got lucky because out in the garage i had three empty cans that i just
had sitting around and swapped the gas out into those.
