Howdy All,

It's been a long time since I've posted. I've still been lurking however.

I found a new survival store while out and about. Picked up a couple of interesting items to play with. One is something called a "PopUp" wipe. Best way I can describe it is a dehydrated towel, I kid you not. It is a little disc looking thing about the size of a LifeSaver without the hole. You add water and it expands into a small towel. They come individually wrapped. I have no idea how well it would work as a towel as of yet but it works GREAT as tinder for starting a fire. Take your knife and shred some of the material off, fluff it up and it takes a spark like nobodies business.

The other is some interesting paracord. It has 6 strands of the polyester cord, 2 strands of Spiderwire fishing line and 1 strand of Jute cord.

Like I said, just an interesting find.

Dehydrated and compressed cotton towels are actually pretty common to my knowledge. I personally would prefer a microfiber one for use as a towel. Smaller in size (compaired to a non compressed cotton one)and more aborbant. Although microfiber can get stinkey after a few weeks on continous use.

Sure,

The towels are at http://www.simpleoutdoorstore.com/popup_towels_compressed_cotton_cloth.html

Unfortunately when I looked just before I posted, it said that they were out of stock. As far as the paracord, I don't have a link. The guy at the store had a roll that he was selling off lengths of and he told me that he was trying to find another source.
