This topic has already been pretty much beaten to death in another thread.

But the hikers in the first part of this story seem to have pushed the panic button a tad too soon. Seems that they managed to get themselves back to the trailhead unassisted, 'cept for the moral support of the Coasties flying over.

"...They set up camp and did the only thing they felt they could -- activated their rented personal locator beacon..." How 'bout building a fire and drying out???
