Since asking for something so specific seems kind of arrogant, I went out and bought myself my own birthday present today. A brand new knife...

Got the SOG Seal Pup, fixed blade with Kydex sheath.

FIts my hand well, good feel to it, and I know it's gotten many a good review here and in other places.

Now I just need to learn to sharpen it properly.

Which one did you get? I have the Elite with a straight edge. My next knife is going to be carbon instead of stainless, so I can have the best of both worlds. Haven't picked one out yet.

I'm a fan of the SOG Seal Pup Elite. I had one with a combo edge that I gave to a good friend and I currently have one with a straight edge. The Seal Pup is a good solid knife.

Mine is an Elite with a combination blade. I was incorrect in my earlier post, it didn't come with a Kydex sheath, just a nylon one with an accessory pocket and Molle attachment capability.

Still glad I got it, seems like a very solid tool. I was going to get a Ka-Bar #1258 but discovered that it doesn't fit in my hand well. The space between the hilt and the pommel(?) is too short to fit my hand. The Seal Pup fits very nicely.

I too just received a big box of sharp toys; I have been sneaking them into the house from my truck one at a time as it is 9 months till my Birthday!

Although it is my hunting partner and lifetime friend's Birthday today. Happy Birthday Dave!
