I was wondering if anyone has ever heard of something called a Delta Shelter designed by Stephen Yardan, I read about it in a book and it sounded interesting but I cannot find it anywhere on the net. It's a poncho that turns into a tent.

This is all that I have found:

Good luck with finding what you actually have in mind.

First welcome to the forum. I have never heard of a delta shelter but I found a site about a year back about how to make an alpha tent, since I had all the makings I made one and it has preplaced my tent for most trips.

Close, but try the "Alpha Tent" over at AlphaRubicon.com. This is what you are looking for. I have been very tempted to put together a kit like this. Very clever and looks to be a great combo unit.

PS - Ray beat me to it.

I use the Integral Designs Sil Poncho. I haven't had it long but I love it so far. Not a full tent but it's less than 8 oz. and nearly small enough to fit in a pocket.
