I've had a Filson Foul-Weather Coat (oil-finish 6 oz. cover cloth) for about three years. At the end of last winter, I noticed it didn't seem to have the water-repellency it used to.

I have never re-waxed it. The thing cost a small fortune, and I'm just a bit leery about starting to smear wax over it. You know...if it ain't broke...

I called Filson's 800 number, and the young lady I spoke to seemed to be severely uninterested in my problem (which, I must say, is not the norm on the other occasions I've had to call Filson).

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to proceed?
