Thanks for providing realism into survivalist situations. All too often the standard survivalist narrative that is peddled is one of "be careful!Hide your stuff because the starving hordes will assault you and take your goods."

In my experience with emergency situations, people have been positive and willing to help, with results that ended well, or at least as well as could be expected.

I expect that will be the case in the future, as well.

You should not go into a situation unmindful of the possibility of bad actors, but simply that should not be the primary expectation. If bad stuff happens (and there is a slight possibility that it might) deal with it.
