Yes indeed, an excellent article. I particularly noted this comment in the ending:

Timber frame construction is popular in California for a very good reason. Such structures are generally quite earthquake resistant - I just watched my house rock, roll, and recover just a few weeks ago. Now we need fire and EQ resistant construction.

Changes will be made.
