It depends on what you are using them for.
If long term no touch, no big deal
if regular access, or needing a GOOD seal, they are very useful


Long and short- if you need fast and easy- you can open and close Gamma Seals with one hand, to an airtight/water tight seal.

I LOVE it for dog food/cat food- 5 gallon bucket fits most of a 35 pound bag. So 1 5 gallon bucket for extra food. 1 2.5 gallon bucket in kitchen. We use it every day- In 5 years, it still works the same as the day I got it. Set lid down, twist. DONE.

When I upgrade my food storage, I plan on the containers I am using to have gamma seals. The ones in Long term storage not so important- They are not open /close open/ close.
