While I am not in the Social Media demographic, I met this You Tuber last year while in Tokyo. He is an Ex Pat livng in Japan and actually has quite a following from posting over 125 videos of life in Japan.
It is a bit long (21 minutes) but he covers a lot of ground of what it was like when the quake hit, why the Japanese are remaining calm (at least prior to the nuclear implications) and where to go for the most accurate information links.
