Well, it's been about 1.5 weeks since you reported the problem. If you had re-formatted and re-installed you'd be done by now, so what solution did you finally adopt, and how are you getting on?

My semi-retired resident geek finally took pity on me and said he'd give it a shot. I dropped it off Tuesday. If he can sort it out by next week, great. Otherwise, I'll probably bite the bullet and buy a new one and have it shipped while I am on the road for a couple weks coming up. Really don't want to do that, but...
