A friend just shared an idea for kyaking or canoeing fishermen. Secure a length of swimming noodle to your fishing rod in case it falls overboard. If it falls overboard, it will be floated instead of sinking.

I have a hard enough time making a delicate presentation with my flyrod. I can't imagine being very successful with the rod encased in a swimming noodle!

I've been kind of puzzling on that too. There's no place on a flyrod where the noodle wouldn't interfere that I can visualize.
