Seems that he may have been just a tad underequipped for an "experienced dog-sledder..." Soaking wet clothes, in todays world? Nothing to signal with (other than a headlamp), no fire, no food, no nothing except his dog team. Shame on him. Glad he made it tho, and hopefully he learned from this experience...

Anyone recall the 60s group THREE DOG NIGHT? This is an old musher's term describing how cold the nights are. Dogs would be brought into the tent to increase body heat. There is a campstove maker who uses the term for their different size stoves. Our Norgwegian probably should have abandoned the artificial safety of a sled for the blanket and his doggies. I know Chocolate Drop and Piewacket are helping reduce my heating bill <img src="/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Always wondered where the group got its name! That was back when I had hair, lots of hair. Wow, what a blast from the past.

Must've been one of those nights where they couldn;t bring the dogs in to increase heat..... when they wrote the song "One" (...is the lonliest number...)
