Take a look at this most unusual story:
www.timesonline.co.uk/article/0%2C%2C3-2513435%2C002.html

In case my linking doesn't work, it's on timesonline.co.uk under world news (seventh article down).
Hiker purportedly lived for 23 days (?) without water, hibernating.

This was an extreme case in extreme conditions. Until medicine and science learns more I'll stick to common sense or PLBs when I 'get stupid.' Half a bottle of BBQ sauce? shudders

Yes, but it was Stubb's BBQ sauce. That's the trick.

Stubb's is a local joint that went national with their BBQ sauce. When I saw this story a couple of weeks ago I called Stubb's and gave the manager a link to the story. That dude needed a case of the stuff for Christmas.

If it's true. Do you remember that woman who was reported to have been buried by an earthquake? It turned out that it was something of a hoax, as neighbors had seen her walking around the area days before she was 'found'.

It could be true, a really good example of 'dumb luck', like the kids pulled out a Lake Superior or somewhere after being submerged for 90 minutes.

Organ shut-down... no lasting effects. Well, get back to us in a year or two.

I've read on a blog that it's a "Shaolin secret never to be released to you Westerners". It may be true I mean some people there endure strange harsh ascetic practices like doing controlled breathing exercises bare-chested under a freezing waterfall and body-hardening exercises in the mountains, etc. Maybe he had a ninjitsu background, who knows.
