This was a good idea Todd!

Everybody's already mentioned some of the places I like (BCB, REI, Sportsman's Warehouse, etc). Here are a couple more...
http://www.thebladeshop.com/
great prices on knives

http://www.colemans.com/
surplus gear... good stuff (has someone already mentioned Coleman's?)

http://www.altrec.com/
Good camping/hiking gear

Again... good idea for this thread. <img src="/images/graemlins/smirk.gif" alt="" />

I bought REI Stormproof matches when I visited relatives in Pittsburgh PA. Nice store and it reminds me of MEC were I buy most of my gear. It's basically the same concept, except they don't make Stormproof matches.

Roger that, I'd much rather do eBay than a lot of normal web stores, and even some brick and mortar ones.

It is competative shopping, buying stuff turned into a sport. Just the thing for the guy who needs to prove that he's "a real man" to himself, yet "sensative and urbane" to his other half. *grins*

No one has mentioned LifeView Outdoors.

I think we need to work on our advertising.

I'm hesitant to mention it, since I work there part time, but since you asked:
Next Adventure
Specializes in new, used, and closeout outdoor gear. Some of our closeouts and used gear is pretty awesome, there's no doubt.

Same as some of the other posts but also:

Don't overlook Amazon
http://www.amazon.com

In addition to new books they also have venders that sell harder to find new or used books.

Also, check out their sports and outdoors / camping and hiking section. Items vary, but sometimes they have some good deals. For example, today you can get a Victorinox Swiss Army Climber II Pocket Knife for $9.99 (free shipping on orders over $25).

Some are direct from Amazon, some from other vendors.

The Epicenter - Great place for hard to find MRE components.

Emergency Essentials - Another good long life food provider

Chinook Medical - Medical supplies and first aid kits.

This is a great thread. Can I nominate it for sticky status <img src="/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" />
