In thinking of the Frilled Lizard and other Animals which Puff themselves up, Spread Out Webbed Appendages, etc, -in order to make themselves Look Bigger, -when a Threat arises, -I'm wondering how well this might work with us Humans, -in the Prescence of Big Game Threats of our own?

For instance, -Could someone successfully spread out a Tarp or the like, -Behind themself, -to Visually Fool say a Bear!?

(Along these lines, -I once saw a Wildlife Documentary, -where an Inferior Chimp, -Hit upon the Idea of grabbing up Two Large, Empty, Petrol Cans! He thereby successfully became King of the Group! In Waving those things around! And he really Played it Up!, -for all that it was worth! He had everyone else Cowering in Fear for awhile! Till he got to be Too Much! / The Others Got Wise / and had themselves a Revolt! He clearly Overplayed his Hand! Absent such, -He might have Held On. For who knows how Long. But the Point Remains. He Successfully Hit upon something, -which Really made him Look Bigger than he Really was!). [color:"black"] ScottRezaLogan

It has been suggested that when facing something like a cougar, which may respect size more than anything else, to shrug your jacket down your arms and then raise it and your arms above your head, making yourself look bigger.

I don't know that it would work for a bear, but it would probably beat running.

Yeah, I seam to remember the late Steve Irwin approaching a bunch of leopards while raising his arms over his head in order to make himself appear larger, and of course the camera showed the leopards fleeing from the threat. My own opinion is that that the leopards had just recently fed and were more annoyed than anything else.

Try this with some bears and let us know how it turns out...

I gotta' ask: What Is with The Random capitalization? Is This Some more efficient Means of communication that You've developed?

just remember that you dont have to out run the bear, you just have to out run the slowest member of your group
