Thanks for the suggestions. For the short term I'll probably go the five gallon can route with stabilizer.

You can buy or rent the tank. You will use soft copper tubing into the house from the tank. Soft copper tubing takes a tremendous amount of abuse. Even if the tubing should rupture, it will be on the low pressure side of the regulator, and will take hours to loose all the LP in the tank. Just lift the cover, close the gas valve, and repair or replace the tubing.
