Where is that pic from? I'm looking for a good source ($$) for these and hadn't seen them offered in such multi-colored diversity.

From Here.

In Firefox, at least, you can right-click on an image and select "Properties" to see the URL.

Craig, if I may suggest, try braided nylon fishing line. I think it runs about 8-10 bucks a spool at Gander Mtn. Give it a shot and let me know. Bart

ACR is a very good whistle and IIRC it is louder than the Fox40 Micros, though not as loud as the Fox40 Minis. This has been discussed here before and test results posted... I just can't seem to find the thread.

Has anyone tried the Pearl from Fox40?

They say it is a lower pitch. Lower pitches carry better, but is it enough to make a difference?

The Classic can hit 115db while the Pearl only goes up to 90db, dont know if the lower pitch is worth the trade off.

I've been a soccer referee for awhile and have had a lot of experience with whistles. Any Fox whistle is a great whistle. The lower pitch really saves the ears after hours of blowing. With a Fox 40 or Fox 40 mini after the first 1 or 2 really good blows my ears were ringing and after a day of refereeing I was almost deaf. With the Pearl you could go forever with little hearing impairment. I think the lower pitch of the pearl would allow you to signal for help and still hear a reply. The Pearl is also much more noticeable from a much greater distance IMO.
A few have disagreed with me and side I was backwards. So it might depend on the person listening.
This is just my 2 cents.
