If it goes like the last stadium drill I was at (Shea Stadium, last year this time) expect to get COLD - they ended up with some REAL cases of light hypothermia

well its for a exsersize in the amsterdam arena, they haven't told me what they are training for. Just that it is a disaster/anti terror exsersize, they didn't even told me that a dutch singer is going to perform there during the exsersize, i had to read that in the newspaper ( where did i put those earplugs?... <img src="/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" />). Since it will be the largest exsersize ever in the netherlands, it think all emergency services will be there.

kc2ixe i will expect them to have taken adequent to prevent that. Having 10,000 "acteurs", they beter have ! But i will be wearing enough clothing, just in case.

I would recommend you put a few energy bars, peanut butter crackers, or other snacks in your clothing. I would also think about wearing a camel back water carrier. If it is as big as you say, it may be a while before they get to you. It may be a long time waiting between when you are made to look injured, get found, get moved to triage, and get treated. During that time it is likely you will be on your own without access to food or drink.

Sounds fun. The biggest issue on all the mock disasters I have particiapted in is communication. EMS can not talk to Fire, which cannot talk to Police, which can't talk to Red Cross, which can't talk to Rescue, which can't talk to Air Support. Everyone can talk within their department but not interdepartmently. Victim's learn that they may wait long periods of time when no one speak with them. They will get shuttled between waiting here and there. Hope you learn some fun stuff.

The scenario turned out to be a "dirty bomb" - actually more than one. I was involved WAY WAY on the outside - we were supporting a group that was supporting a group that helps (We were supporting SATERN, which supports the Salvation Army, which was providing canteen services to "victims" and to the Fire Dept. We are no where near 1st (or even 2nd) responders, but it's fun to get invited and see what's going on - BTW I've never seen that many fire trucks in one place at one time before that

If it is still cold or if the ground is cold keep yourself insulated from the ground. It will pull all your warmth out of your body very rapidly. The food and water is always a good idea of course.
