Good idea, I thought about it some days ago when I was on my way to my training. Since I usually leave my wallet I do not carry to much of stuff that can be used to idenitfy me in case of an accident or such. Might be a good idea to ad some personal information, such as name, date of birth to the PSK in case of accident, death etc in order to help with identification, getting in hold of next of kin etc. A permanent marker to write this information on the inside of the lid could proberbly work.

Do you think it's worth wearing military type dog tags?

What information would you put? I think it traditionally allows five lines with 16 characters including spaces.

- Is it really relevant to include your blood type today?
- Is it relevant to include the year of tetanus shot?
- Personally I don't have known allergies except for cats but that would be a good addition.
- Would you put your social security number (I don't think so)?

Which material is best among them: stainless steel, solid brass, pure copper or aluminum? Is it better with a rubber silencer?

Thank you
Frankie

I had a dog tag made for when I am out and about in the great outdoors. It has my name, DOB, city where I live, blood type, and allergies listed on it. I figure that, heaven forbid, they can at least ID my carcass and know what town to find my next of kin (wouldn't be very hard)...yet, I don't have my addy, ssn, or any other personal items on it.

It is on a chain along with a mini Buck folder, mini Fox 40, mini LED light, P38, key to the lock on my pistol (which is unlocked when outdoors, but...never know if you forget to unlock it...and how bad would that suck to need it and not be able to use it..heh), and a "spy" capsule containing a ferro rod and some tinder quick.

All of the items are red with the exception of the P38 of course, key, and LED, which is black.

It's a little bulky for every day wear, but I figure that I've got SOMETHING on me when outdoors (in addition to all of my regular carry, PSK, FAK, etc.).
