OK, we've had a discussion of BOBs, jump kits, whatever you want to call the kit you grab for short term immediate use.

What kind of "snivel gear" do you keep in yours? Aka, stuff that isn't absolutely NECESSARY to survive, but is going to keep you happy. I usually have some current magazine, I always have a pair of socks and undies, and a roll of hard candy

That's why I refer to my kit as more comfort than survival. "Comfort Gear" goes down lots better with the PHRASECENSOREDPOSTERSHOULDKNOWBETTER.. So would Snivel Gear. Snivel Gear is actually a funnier name. I may start using that one myself.

No CHOCOLATE??? You DO travel light!

Chocolate in a watertight container, a good paperback, an extra pair of socks, a soft blankie, the dog's leash.

Snivel gear as in wet weather gear? Well, I keep a military poncho in all the BOB's, but in addition to it being wet weather gear it can also be an improvised shelter, stretcher, etc.

For morale boosters, I have some Jolly Ranchers, a deck of cards, one of those $5.00 countycomm radios, and extra batteries.

A little tip - I store the socks turned inside out in a Ziplock bag liberally sprinkled with foot powder. Keeps them dry and the foot powder makes a difference. <img src="/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" />
