Heard a podcast with a knife maker supporting a bill that seemed at odds with knife rights. Is there a forum here that would be okay to talk about it? Or is there another web site for such?

Why not discuss it here? Discussion of politics is out, but considering DR’s stance on knife rights, there should be an exemption for those discussions even if they cross into a very narrow political discussion.

I don’t make the rules, but I have agreed to enforce them impartially. Unless Doug or Blast overrules me, I must not permit you to continue with political discussion here on ETS. Regardless of my personal feelings.

Doug? Blast? I’d be grateful if one of you would chime in.

I'll go out on a limb and predict that most of us on ETS would support knife rights since we probably keep a blade or two handy (I have two on me as I type this), so we would be preaching to the choir...

Perhaps the OP could post a link to the podcast in question? That might be useful.

I will allow a link to the podcast, but that's probably the point that political discussion regarding knives should stop unless/until I am overruled.

I support it even though my tools of choice are EMT shears and a box cutter.

If you guys want to discuss Knife Rights, the organization, in particular or "lower case" knife rights in general, I have no problem with it provided that we keep it civil. It is possible to have a civil discussion involving some political aspects where folks may disagree. No name-calling, please. If it gets out of hand, we'll close the thread.

Please everyone consider this the new policy, and I will (hopefully not have to) enforce it as written.

Thank you!

Well, the gist of the pod cast in regards to knives, was about S.1092, that is not a great bill and it looks like the Knife Rights web site speaks to this.

https://kniferights.org/legislative-update/problematic-knife-transport-bill/

It came up in the podcast in regards to Benchmade's support of this bill. Other parts of the podcast were regarding other political issues, so I don't think a link would be appropriate, but I wanted to know more about this Senate bill on knives and travel between states. Looks like the information was right there at Doug's site. It sounded like Benchmade's representative hadn't spent much time looking at the issues surrounding this bill and said they would look into it.
