Two notes from a mountaineering book I've been reading; carry something as a bloodpad to stop bleeding and carry extra clothing for 'victims' not yours, as you might need that.

This is my personal pet peeve; everything fits except for one or two things you hand carry and a few clipped on and a hat and a jacket...

A couple months ago I got a 90 L duffle from Mystery Ranch. It's amazing! Carry handles at the ends, backpack straps that hide away, etc. Even compartments for dirty clothes or boots. I've used it for a couple trips and been very impressed.

I feel the same way about small packs with accessories attached all over them...why not just get a bigger bag?
