I buy packs of AA and AAA batteries from Costco (48 per package) and after a pack is open it eventually gets jumbled. I like to have extras in the car and even more when out of town so went looking for plastic storage boxes.

Found these Dial-brand AA and AAA boxes on Amazon. They work fine, each holds twelve batteries. Decent price.

But I'd like some cases that hold more. Anyone have a recommendation?

The second time I ordered exactly that, they came without the means to connect them. So be aware of that possibility.

The thing I like the most about the ones which do connect is being able to label my rechargeable batteries with type and priority. It helps keep them better organized, and helps keep track of the newer and older batteries (and more recently charged).

Storacell powerpax's go up to 12.

Why not get a pelican case?

I think a 1010 holds something like 24 AAs, just stacking them in there.

Or get a larger one, and some plucking foam

since switching to rechargeable Sanyo/Panasonic Eneloop AA and AAA I don't store that many batteries any longer... I've replaced all the alkaline cells in my radios and lights, so the remaining Eneloops are easily stored in a couple of pill vials... just an idea

I use semi transparant powerex boxes. Hold 8AA or 2aa and 8 AAA's. I marked one side green and the other red and point the positive end to green when it's a full battery and red when it's a empty one.

remember: jumbled batteries can start fires.

once sorted, i store ALL my batteries in heavy air-tight metal ammo cans.

Doesn't that turn them into a bomb? Possibly depending on the type of battery: batteries with Lithium don't need air to burn.

Further to the previous thread on ROC bunkers, here is a post 'War Stock Battery Box'. It probably had a flap lid once upon a time.

Contents renewed yearly but not to be touched until 'Transition To War' was invoked. Really high tech but it is still in use at home.
