Hi,

So, my favorite Cabela's store tells me they are no longer stocking 1000' rolls of paracord. This makes me sad. It was under $40 out the door. Seems several places are out of it (unless it is outrageously priced.)

Do you have any suggestions/vendors where this can be had other than amazon.com?

Looking for MIL-SPEC MIL-C-5040. 7 strands with each of those containing 3 braided strands.

Thanks.

No hurry. Bought a large quanity for my son and I will steal from him for a while. laugh

He might be to pricy but the ebay seller I linked to in my thread here stocks the proper mil spec paracord. I've bought some type IV from him and it's good stuff.

$40 for 1000' of Mil Spec?! That's amazing. I'm skeptical.

Anyway, here's where I've bought the real thing several times:

My mistake. The cabela's variety had the seven internal strands, but those were only made up of two braids.

I called campingsurvial.com and they say their cord is in. I'm certain it is like the cabela's variety and not military spec.

Again, thanks and sorry for misquoting what I thought I had. It's been great for what I use it for.

Wow, that's great, thanks for the link Alan. Now I'll have to start a new thread so i don't hi-jack this one.

Wow! That is inexpensive paracord in the 1000 foot spools, Alan_Romania. Is it really the "good" stuff? 7 inner strands, with each of those composed the three smaller strands twisted together? If it really is the good stuff, the price is phenomenal.

It is the good stuff (7 strand made up of 3 strand) , pretty much the only place I buy my 550 cord now.

Thanks for the link and verification this isn't some cheap knockoff. I think I will place an order for one of those 1000 foot spools to give it a try. I might even have to step out of my boring cave and order it in something other than black or olive!
