Hello All,

Happy to report that I recieved both a Blast Match, and Strike Force, Spark lite tinders as well as 2 boxes of Wet Fire tinder in the last week. I can't wait to head out tomorrow and test them under field conditions. Obviously, I needed to get all the items together prior to testing. ( cotton/vasiline balls, standard tinder, paper, etc )

I realize this may already have been covered, but I wanted to do my own.

I will post what I find out tomorrow evening. It may be only a rudamentary test compared to other organizations evaluation both of these products, but I'll do my best. Wet, Dry, Dirty i'll tell you what I find..

Matt

Please do! Testing from a different user oftentimes reveals subtle observations another may not.

Thanks Chris,

I'm going to do my best to test them both under real world conditions. Nothing that they wouldn't undergo in realistic wilderness survival situations: water, dirt, being dropped, stepped on, dropped etc.

I'm trying to borrow a digital camera from a friend at work to document the testing, but not sure i'll get photos unless I take 35mm photos from my own camera. Either way, I'll document the testing as best I can.

Matt, I look forward to your comparison. I have the Strike Force and like it, but wondered about the differences. Good luck and enjoy the test. Hope you can get the pictures to work out.

I have both the Blast Match and the StrikeForce. And they both work tremendously well.I prefer the Blast Match but wish it was built a little more robust. If it were to be held at an wrong angle and slip it could possibly break. You would still be able to use the spark rod.You would just have to use two hands of which defeats the reason of the design.
Just my $.02 worth of observation.

Geeze Guys, I'm Sorry!!!!

Due to a family situation, I havent been able to post any results yet. I sincerely apologize for this!!!! I don't like to say i'll do something and not be able to follow thru.

The testing of both strikers went well as well as the tinders, and I will have my results up no later than wed. of this week , hopefully sooner..
