for those of us just starting to look a long term food storage, an excellent video on YouTube by Wendy DeWitt... it's 1hr 27 minutes long... titled something like "#1 best food storage seminar" which it is...she is an LDS presenter, and her audience in the video is LDS, but offers a lot of practical experience and data from the LDS canneries she oversees.... even if you don't have access to an LDS cannery you owe it to yourself to see this... she has a web site titled "everything under the sun" in which there is a PDF copy of her handout used in the seminar...

time to look at a solar oven, jar vacuum sealer, and pressure canner

I wanted to know if you can join a group going to the LDS cannery in Houston if you are not a member of LDS?
Thanks

Our local LDS doesnt allow you to can product there anymore, but things theyve canned are available to non members, and the prices cant be beat anywhere, nor can the quality.

For long term prep supplies of basics, they should be number one on your list.

And they are very nice folks too,it isnt about religion, its about being prepared. They are A#1 in my opinion.
