At risk of firing up the zombie hunters again, I find this an interesting turn of events. Great way to use people's skewed priorities and the blur between entertainment and reality to teach them a little bit!

U.S. officials turn to zombie ‘apocalypse’ to promote emergency preparedness

With hurricane season fast approaching, the CDC was looking for ways to connect with Americans online and have citizens prepare for emergencies, including hurricanes, flooding, earthquakes and fires.

The CDC Zombie Apocalypse emergency kit isn't very good, it doesn't even mention any rolls of Bounty Kitchen paper for Zombie Rule No12.

It doesn't even mention an Iron Skillet, for Zombie Rule No6

You would have thought that a US Government organisation would have prepared a better kit list.

Even the Family Radio Ministry based in California doesn't appear to have produced a 'not been raptured' kit list knowing full well that many of its flock are going to be left behind this weekend. frown

Although strangely enough I have seen about 3 Zombies walking the streets in Dundee in the last couple of months and looking at the state of them I think the Zombie Rule No1 is being somewhat over stated.

I read a cute article in the LA Times about the post rapture pet care industry. For a suitable sum, post rapture care is ensured.

LMAO jac. But even the CDC should know, if they watched enough Zombie movies and played enough Zombie games, that all you need for the zombie apocalypse is plenty of guns, ammo, healing items, keys for locked doors, and something massive to make a final big boom when the end comes.

This reminds me that the generation that first played Resident Evil on the Playstation game console are becoming economically viable. My cousin introduced me to it and I have been hooked ever since.

To each their own.

Jac - Walking Dead, an AMC original series, rocks. They even show how the whole zombie thing works in one episode. Even features the CDC.

It's on a two dvd set, only 6 episodes so far. I enjoyed it as a zombie movie/series afficiando.

JBMat, I saw a bit of a rerun of the premire and it looked pretty good. Might have to go look for those DVDs. Thanks for the tip!

Love those movies, Mark. I haven't tried the game yet though. Might have to add that to the weekend TO DO List, assuming we make it through the apocolypse!
