For about $10 I can get this at the local supermarket.

Heinz Spotted Dick Pudding - 285 grams net = 960 Kcal - $1.50

I do and I don't want to know what Spotted Dick Pudding is.

I have a mix of emergency foods: some canned for convenience, some freeze-dried also for convenience. I never pay retail. One thing I always try to do is never put anything but clean water in my cooking pot. I hate wasting water washing, sterilizing.

OK, I just plain hate washing dishes.

And ironing. I hate that even more.

I will make the bed occasionally--under duress.

Thanks for all the good info and photos, Am_Fear. I didn't know you were in the UK.

I've decided, I definitely don't want to know what Spotted Dick Pudding is even if it's loaded with calories and nutrition. ;-)

In people with renal failure, 4000 IU can cause substantial damage

Conclusion, if you're not an infant, and you don't have renal faliure, you're safe eating 5100IU of Vitamin A in this meal smile

Apparently. Good info! 25K IU per kg of weight huh? That's some serious dosing.

Ah... lucky you! Good find, congratulations smile
I've been looking for some wind screen material for quite some time, but haven't been lucky so far.

Am_Fear_Liath_Mor: I've been looking for - and trying to make - a compact setup like yours for quite some time, thanks for the tip. I've tried making my own stand, but the tatonka seems to be EXACTLY what I'm looking for. Inexpensive, too.
