My Altoids version.

Safety pins, fishing kit, steel wires, waxed jute twine, waterproof strike anywhere matches, water purification tabs, sewing kit, whistle, razor blade, duct tape, dental floss, aluminum foil.

Not meant as a stand along, but rather complement my EDC.

Sybert777,

I have tinkered on several configurations of Pocket Survival Kits/Tins for some time now. The configuration and contents really depend on your current situation. I’m currently a contractor in Afghanistan and have settled on a kit based on the instructions provided with the RSK Mk5 Knife. For the past 5 months it has ridden in the cargo pocket of my pants.

Cheers,
W-W

I still have to add an Oven Bag to my PSP, I just cant fold them flat enough! frown
I also need to replace the Lowes L.E.D. with a PICO L.E.D.

I have two, and a pocket kit, that I will post all tonight. One resides in my jeep-I have a seat cover that has MOLLE points on it, with a bunch of kit bags. That stays with the jeep, and is there in the event I have an unplanned (or semi-planned) night out.
The second one is in one of those tins Leigh has-this is my bulky one. That has most everything I need, and goes in my daypack when I go out dayhiking, geocaching, etc.
The final one is an altoids tin kit-thats my ditch kit. That always goes into a thigh pocket.
I will snap some pics tonight when I get home.

Here are a couple photos of my EDC here in Afghanistan. The bandana has turned out to be surprisingly useful serving as a hat, towel, and its original purpose as a dust filter during sand storms. While I use the Leatherman Skeletool more often than the Benchmade AFO II I think it is kind of cool you can buy switchblades at the Post Exchange (PX) and are allowed to carry them. The old style combat dressing is slim and rides in my shirt pocket. From my Survival Tin I have used the needle and threat to repair my pants I tore on concertina wire, the compass to help align a sensor, the Micro-Light (night vision green) during a blackout (lots of stars here), and the Nexcare Waterproof Skin Cover to cover a hot spot on one of my feet.

Bandana
• Leatherman Skeletool
• Benchmade AFO II
• Old Style First Aid Dressing
• Survival Bracelet (6' of paracord)
• Survival Tin

Altoids Tin
RSK Mk5 Knife
Photon Freedom Micro-Light (Night Vision Green)
Signal Mirror
Whistle
Spark-Lite Firestarter
X4 Tinder-Quik
Compass w/lanyard
X2 Micro-Pur Tablets
X2 Pieces Rip-Stop Tape
X2 Pieces of Nexcare Waterproof Skin Cover
Heavy Duty Sewing Needle pre-Threaded
Extra thread
Safety Pin
Paper Clip (MacGyver Multi Tool)
Snare Wire
