I EDC an ASP saphire light on my keychain. I don't consider this carrying a light just carrying my key chain. I also make sure to carry my AA maglight and my photon II both of those are part of my kit. I don't even think about the ASP on my keychain - until I need some light then it is the one I use since it is more conviently available there hanging from my keys looped onto my belt. the ASP isn't the best light I carry but it is the most used. It is also still running after all these years.

Always my caribinar. it has:
house keys
Arc AAA
Orange Fox 40 Classic

It sometmes has:
Rescue pouch (Latex gloves and CPR mouth piece and money)
Other keys (for bicycle lock, etc)

This is a difficult question that you posed. Usually, I have my other EDC items (lighter, tissues, cell phone etc). This is a good time to rethink what i ALWAYS carry.

Backcountry? Fire! - usually lighter(s) but sometimes
one of the mag. sticks reviewed by ETS.

In Town - S&W m342. With it I can get anything else I'd need

On a day to day basis, I hate to admit it, but I'd have to say my cel phone.

In the spirit of friendship, a multitool shouldn't be considered a substitute for a knife and vice versa. I left the blades closed so you can see - there are many things that a multitool can do that a knife cannot.
