always know where your towel is.
never leave your toothbrush unattended.
don't use bar soap in a dorm.
Don't pull a gun in a knife fight; the other guy might decide to pull out his grenade launcher.

Some good quotes I've read lately:

"The difference between genius and stupidity, is that genius has its limits." - Albert Einstein

"The war is coming to the streets of America and if you are not keeping and bearing and practicing with your arms then you will be helpless and you will be the victim of evil." - Ted Nugent

"Leave no authority existing not responsible to the people." - Thomas Jefferson

"My reading of history convinces me that most bad government results from too much government." - also Thomas Jefferson

And the best one I've read lately, seems to hold very true in today's current situation where so many are making a living off of welfare and other entitlement programs. Programs that were designed to HELP people who were down on their luck, not create an entire new class of people too lazy to provide for themselves.

"The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not." - also Thomas Jefferson

trust your eyes over what you think.

if your gonna be dumb, you gotta be tough.

if it sounds too good to be true, it is.

a fool and his money are soon parted.

if it can't be fixed with duct tape and/or baling wire, it can't be fixed. (impossible!)

life usually leaves a $100 bill on your dresser to let you know that you just got fubar-ed.

revenge is a dish best not served.

You've got to let go of the stuff

I'm cleaning out my parents house, and everywhere I turn, I can't decide what to keep, what to toss etc. There is so much (they lived in the same house for 55 years)

The problem is - what happens when you have a cabinet 5 ft by 4ft x 4ft FULL of brass and copper pipe fittings? I took a bucket full of mixed fittings home (and will probably take another bucket - but of course I don't want to just throw them away - I'd LOVE to find a plumber to come over and give me say, 10-20% above scrap for them, and TAKE them (brand new 2" bronze gate valves aren't cheap) I have a full set of pipe dies, and a pipe bench. I really don't have the room for them, and might need them once a decade. I have about 10-15 cubig feet of metal electrical boxes (Gem, Quad, Handy, extentions, EMT and BX fittings etc)

BTW, if any of you are in the NYC area and are interested in buying the "stuff" a HVAC mechanic accumulates over 50 years or so in the trade - filter driers, tanks of freon, fittings, wire, etc etc etc, PLEASE email me
