Distrust logic, half trust experience, and always seek wisdom.

-- Pretend there's a $100 bill between your knees, and you don't want to let it go.

Advice given to me by a wise old infantry Captain before I went to Airborne School many years ago. Although, it would probably be good advice for teenagers too...

This wasn't lately but I still remember it from a while back. An engineer I worked with told me (I was a starting person) that I could learn something from anyone. That is that every person had something useful to say and that you could learn something from them. I still remember him saying that and try to practice it to this day.

In life you can get quality, speed or economy. But only two at a time. Choose well.

You never really need a handgun. . . . .

Until you REALLY NEED a handgun!
I do the things that I must, and really regret, are unfortunately necessary.

Relax, don't be so hard on yourself; you've never been/done XXXX before.

This basically says that no matter what point you are at in your life or experience you are experiencing something for the first time.

This helped me immensely as I was preparing to retire from the Air Force.

If it doesnt hurt, you're doing it wrong-my brazilian JJ instructor used to say that alot.

My advice I give to my teen nephew: Think of your life as a storybook. At the end of it, is it worth reading? Be true to yourself, respect others, and enjoy life. Ensure a good story for your kids to read someday.

Everything matters, but nothing matters much.

Do what's right, come what may.
Quality is addictive.

If you tell the truth, you don't have to remember anything.
