Well, both of the original Garmin eTrex GPS receivers I have died today while testing the data recording set-up for some PLB testing we are scheduled to conduct on Monday. Murphy hard at work again. frown

I am looking to borrow an early model eTrex (not the H or HC models) from someone. I will pay for FedEx shipping and all that. If anyone has one they can lend, please email me at:

dritter@equipped.org

(Cannot find the original guys who lent them the last time, since the desktop computer is still dead and at the computer hospital)

TIA,

Can you ban Mr. Murphy from the forum?

I sure wish I could help. I have a GPS III+, Geko 201, Geko 301 (my son's actually - but he's not all that interested ... yet), and my beloved GPSMAP 60CSx, but alas, no eTrex's.

I wish. He's a permenant resident. I figured I was covered with a primary and a spare, and the primary had been used just a few weeks ago. <sigh>

No. We want to maintain the original baseline for comparative purposes if we can possibly do so.

will a 2 yr old etrex legend work? got one right here. only problem is, it'll take 4 days to get to you, even with fed-ex priority overnight shipping.

I've got an old etrex, it's yellow, I don't know about the H or HC model. This one is pretty much bottom of the line. I'll shoot you an email.

Doug: I still have the one you used on the last test. If you need it PM me.

It was #3 on the Cost guard PLB T&E test held Feb 2008.
