BTW, I always get a kick out of you Americans when you say "northern plains" or "northern Rockies"! The plains and Rocky mountains physically go all the way up to the Yukon territory. smile

Whassamatter? Didn't you know the world revolved around us? wink

I've only made it to Canada a couple of times, and never long enough. I'd love to take a couple of months and go up north to play!

Boy, sorry I missed this thread. It's a little late now, so I already forgot some of what happened, but it sure was a fun little blizzard. I'm currently going to college in Rapid City and it wasn't to good here. Th interstate was closed until Friday night and I didn't try going to my family's ranch until Saturday. My home lies some 140 or so miles north of the black hills and to be honest I think we got hit worse there than in Rapid. Even on Saturday, the roads were a mix of ice with slush on it to ice. In several places some small power transmission lines were broke which I'm sure thrills the electric company since they jut replaced them last spring. On my family's ranch there were some large drifts and broken trees. I know that during the storm some people had there cattle drift several miles after breaking out. Here in Rapid most of the snow has melted, but back home not much of it has melted and it just snowed another five inches or so last Friday, which made for another fantastic trick home. I know more happened, but that's the high(or low) points of that little blizzard. I would have to guess that it has been the biggest blizzard that has hit my home area (Bison,Lemmon area) in the past five years or so.

Oh wow, I spent spring break on a ranch in Bison, SD my freshman year at SDSU back in 1987. If you happen to know Heidi Burkhard (spelling?) tell her Blast says Hi.

Dang, she's got to be forty now, too... shocked

Shoot. The name rings a bell, but I can't think of who that is right now. I'll have to ask one of my parents when I get home.
