I need some help guys, I’m looking for scientific papers about the subject about communication from the government about risks. You know, making people aware of the risks (flooding, chemical plants, etc.), which are present in there living environment. I just can't find the proper word for it. I’m sure it’s easy when you just know what they call it.

All I can find is risk communication, but that only used by dutch people and not by others.

To me its always been 'risk communication.' I don't know if he has government materials, but check out Peter Sandman's website, its very accessible - http://psandman.com/.

fwiw I have always been impressed by the Canadian government's communication on pandemic, its clear, concise, and non-threatening. Stuff that Sandman talks about.

Risk Assessment is a commonly used government term for broadcasting such information.

Do a search on "FEMA risk assessment" and you should find plenty of topical hits.

Maybe the word you are looking for is mitigation?

Hard to tell exactly what you are after, but "Public Service Announcements" often fill that role here. They are often part of "Public Awareness Campaigns"

The answer is Risk Communication. Risk Communication is part of a Community Disaster Education or Preparedness program. Tools to communicate the risk are Public Service annoucements, which as YuccaHead pointed out, may be part of Public Awareness Campaigns.

Mitigation is the actual acts taken to reduce the effect of a hazard. i.e. seawalls are a mitigation effort against erosion.

I would suggest checking out the "Disasters" journal, by Overseas Development Institute. I do think you need to change your search terms to include "community preparedness" or similar terms, as the actual term "risk communications" does not seem to be used alot from my research.

BTW, I'm pursuing a Master of Science in Emergency Management.

In my professional IT career and professional exposure to business continuity, project mgt. (and civilian experience w/OES via CERT/ICS/NIMS), the term of art is usually "risk managment."

The terms "continuity," "adversity," "predictability," and "innovation" are often associated with the concept of "risk managment."

I believe the term you're looking for is Hazard(s) Communication. Not sure what your access level is, but there are documents out there that speak to specific hazards, areas, and etc. Some of these are secure documents and not available to the general public.
