I am looking for a hard plastic container that will hold the AMK "heatsheet" and have about a inch or less of space left over, no bigger. Preferably very un-bulky. I don't know if such a case exist, but I am hoping someone does. Thank you!!!

my recommendation .

You don't need the durability or waterproof feature. But the footprint is right, if you want immediate gratification. Available many places in many sizes.

I'm sure you have your reasons for wanting this, but the retail packing it comes in is really quite adequate for the job. Its very light, can be closed again, etc...

How about a fly box like the fly fisherman use for keep their hand tied flys in. Something like this, just take the inserts out.

How about 1 of those clear plastic mailing tubes? You can trim it down if too long.

Google "lock and lock" containers. They are waterproof, airtight and come in a variety of sizes. I use them for food and other items. Some groceries carry them.

Amazon.com carries them:

Here's the manufacturer:

One of the disposable tupperware-like things that is abouot 3x3 inches might do. It should not leave much room in one dimension, and leave 1-1.5 inches in the other dimensions. I think some are sold under the Ziploc brand.

Electrical conduit might also work. The conduit for my new cable line might work well.

Try a cheap soap carrier from the Travel and Trial size aisle at the local Big Blue Evil Retailer or similar place. They cost about a buck.

I'm also curious why a hard case is needed. The heatsheet is pretty durable by itself, and hard cases tend to be bulky by definition. This is not an attack; I'm just trying to understand the need.

Hey,

I keep a Heetsheet in a Hershey Chocolate Syrup can, the small 10oz size with the snap-on plastic lid. The blanket fits in with a little room to spare for other survival stuff (e.g. firelighting, cordage, whistle, small knife).

The nice thing about the metal can is that it can be used to boil water and cook in. You could even pierce 2 small holes in the top and rig it with a wire bail handle.

Mike

P.S. I also just like chocolate!
