That is awesome! Great for morale!

Why have a closet that locks from the outside? If you wanted to lock a closet wouldn't you have the lock from the inside so the outside was locked (e.g. like a bathroom)?

Still trying to figure that one out.

That's to keep the grandkids confined, when herding works better than duct tape.

Really, though, many of those types of locks have a hole in the middle of the handle on the non-lock side. Just keep a good-sized nail taped to the inside of the closet. Push the nail straight in and turn the handle at the same time. Works fine to get toddlers out of bathrooms, too.

Some of those "privacy" type locks use a little flat screwdriver instead, you stick that in the hole and turn it to unlock the door from the outside...

Sounds like the doorknob was put on reversed; it should have locked from the outside.
