Congrats!!! My daughter is due with her first in late May, hopefully being a grandfather will be as much fun as being a father (and a whole lot less 0200 feedings!)...

I dont know if its appropriate to put my thoughts here. Feel free to move or delete if they are not.

Sometimes I think that women are the tougher gender, and we men just pretend to be so.

Would anyone of you get married and do ... whatever .. fully knowing and expecting that nine months later he would give birth .. a painful process for a person that GIVES to the family while the same person is drained physically.

It is a survival mess in itself as mentioned up there. I may survive something UNEXPECTED but would I go into something like this fully knowing what awaits me ? I am not that courageous !

Women really deserve more respect for what they do and what they go through.

I hope a mother adds something in this thread.
Do we have any in the forum ?

ummmm

Susan ?

We do homebirths because we're cowards.

Birth is not a pathological event, and need not be treated as one.

The foolhardy risks of introducing unnecessary medical intervention into a safe, natural process are best explained with economics.

I'm stopping right here.
