I have a Scott eVest with over 40 pockets. It's the most amazing article of clothing I own. Unfortunately with so many pockets it's easy to overload it until the whole thing weighs 10 or 20 lbs. I imagine the pants could have similar issues.

My latest thinking is to move a kit to a belt pouch; cell phone or deck of cards sized. So much you can fit in there...

Not being a fan of items hanging on my neck, I prefer to put many items on my key ring.Besides house and car keys, I carry a AAA lashlight, a small multitool (plus a locking folder), a mini pry bar, and cash in a sturdy capsule. I have added a peanut lighter on occasion.

Other goodies, which vary day to day, go in pockets or in a pouch in my backpack. Those are the rudiments of an expedient shelter, fire making items, and an appropriate FAK. Also maybe a snack, preferably with chocolate, or two....

Yeah, I'm the same. Not a fan of stuff on my neck although while actually in the woods I'll sometimes have my ESEE Izula set up as a neck knife (paracord with break-away buttons in the middle). While actively doing stuff in camp it's just handy on the neck, easily accessed with either hand.
